‘Visceral Tales’ transports the viewer to a raw, primal state, challenging how we engage with the abject and the image. Through large format photography, identity and meaning are stripped away, boundaries blurred, and what is cast out reclaimed—manifesting the abject in visual form. These figures inhabit a space between the pre-linguistic and the symbolic, evoking the fear of returning to a chaotic, undifferentiated state. Yet in this visceral context, they are given voice—glamorised, expressive, and capable of telling tales that move beyond horror, revealing deeper tensions of self, other, and transformation. A selection of this work featured in the exhibition off-RCA: Trace in Arles, France in 2025.
